Indeed. Even if the IRS was ‘gotten rid of’ you will still need some sort of agency to intake taxes. How does America have a military, or roads, or public education sans taxes? ‘Just get rid of it’ is such a goofy take.

It’s apples and oranges. Many, many human cultures live close to the water but none live on or in it exclusively, we are no longer an aquatic species. I think the arctic comparison might be more apt, but even so, it is such a staggering dif

Only in a hand-wavy roughly analogous kind of way. The devil is in the details. We are just not evolved for an environment like space: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effect_of_spaceflight_on_the... . Even with air and

3% strikes me as a pretty extreme minority, which makes it seem like the opposite of ‘normal.’ They might be more common than most people think (IE, 1 in 33), but that isn’t something that makes them normal.

Not a fan of pornhub or the industry in general, but the continued factionalization of the internet sucks.

Seems like grandstanding. Why go nationwide? Why not try it at the state level (like Sanders’ home of Vermont), and see how it goes?

I don’t know why you are being downvoted. I think the closest parallel is Radio Free Asia, and that’s an irrelevant relic compared to TikTok.

Remarkable man! Good on him for achieving all that. The part where he was able to learn how to breathe and leave the iron lung for short periods of time is particularly interesting. I wonder what he did on those outings…

I think Russian and German sound harsh and often rathe aggressive. I don’t know if that translates into ‘evil’ but I don’t love the sound of those languages.

Is ‘threat actors’ really a better descriptor than simply calling them ‘hackers’? I have noticed a weird trend of shifting phrase usage in news. Mass shooters are now ‘active shooters’ (even in the post-tense, somehow). Soldiers are referre

The two are not mutually exclusive. If China invades and kills US soldiers in the process, training team or no, that’s still gonna be casus belli for the US.
