> Heating/cooling office buildings might be more efficient than everyone doing this to their homes That might be true but doesn’t this assume that people stop heating/cooling their homes whilst they are at work?

Good point, the EV6 and Model Y are comparable in price. I suppose I’d be curious to know if GP was referring to an EV Kia

Yeah I see the 2023 report but still can’t seem to find the actual source for the data. Which is unfortunate. Also: > Your claim is it never happens I did not make that claim. Please see my literal written words and do not misconstrue th

Thanks for that. The worker in the article doesn’t say that a foreman forced her to work without a break explicitly: > Cruz, 46, said she had not been able to take a break all day because of the pressure to finish the job The article als

Last I looked it appeared you are safe to go MERV 8 for most residential HVAC units. MERV 3 is not filtering much

I had the chance to test drive a C8 and was a little unimpressed (I was planning to buy one but didn’t). A good car but not a great one as I had been led to believe. On paper and all the glowing reviews had me believing it was something ver

To be fair, you quoted a couple that traded in a Suburban for a Nissan Frontier. The former is one of the biggest mass produced vehicles you can buy, the Frontier is large but considerably smaller and wouldn’t be out of place on European ro

I don’t think you understand. For someone who isn’t familiar with the React ecosystem - how would they know to install any of your mentioned dependencies. Forget which solution is better, apparently there is a subset of users who choose Ang

Unless sarcasm, your comment actually explains the part you don’t get quite well. If you pick React for a project, how do you know to pick the other 6 dependencies you listed?

Angular v1 can be picked up a lot easier than what OP describes. You could/should cast a wider net Compensation might also have been an issue.

Right, you can be a few miles (5-15) west of Austin and be 500-1000ft above sea level. Sure it’s not Denver dramatic, but flat just goes to show the GP didn’t experience much of Austin at all

Agree with the theme of finding out your options, paying down debt, and broadly investing. Another option, while not passive: buying property and long term renting it. You should aim to have it pay back the initial investment and provide pa

I don’t use any numbers. Just wanted to point out there is slightly more to it than the upfront cost. As with anything there is an associated maintenance cost that is variable depending on circumstance. To be clear I think solar panels can

I never usually see it factored in as a cost but if a roof is replaced or a leak forms under the panels (or a panel) then the cost of removing/re-installing the panel(s) surely isn’t free. So that cost should also be included

It sounds interesting but also relatively easy to prove/disprove. Danny Hilman Natawidjaja claimed 1-3 meters down is a man made matrix of rock so that’s the easiest place to start. If he was so confident surely he’d have proved it by

That is one way to do it, albeit a seemingly naive way. I can’t imagine the entire page is linearly searched to update a UI element these days. Perhaps an entire component in some frameworks? I don’t know and can’t easily find out the time
