Come on. Only Western search engines exist? There's more to it than just Google and Bing. Baidu has 60+% of the Chinese search market.

Of course. Kazakhstan is not a third-world country. It's a former Soviet republic, an oiled country, and basically a Russian satellite.

He didn't say you were just stupid, or that you were wasting your money. He said fair trade was evil . That means it's not so easy as saying "if you don't like it, don't buy it." Ignoring evil is not good, even if other people are doing th

This was posted a few days ago. Using the normal link would flag it as a duplicate. However, I think in most cases I'd prefer the printable version. Some articles are split up into multiple pages, and the printable version combines them and

Their metrics indicate that it works, and I'm inclined to believe the hard evidence over the vague guidelines of the UI textbooks. Besides, Google is used extremely frequently. They may want an interface that is efficient rather than one th

Judging by your response, maybe they shouldn't name it Cuilbot. I wonder if their overzealous bots and subsequent blocking are reasons why they launched with such terrible results. I heard several reasons for that catastrophic failure: *

Your rephrasing doesn't make any sense. Bill Gates wants to convince people that hobbyism can't create good software, and he needs the money. Why should the audience (pirates) care about whether hobbyists make a living, as long as they get

It doesn't matter. The war is lost anyway. You're not going to change anyone's mind; people simply don't place value on files.

You're conflating a few different types of computer literacy. Introductory programming, especially nowadays, doesn't have much to do with knowing whether the monitor is the computer or how to transfer files over a network. Certainly if you'

None of their demos are particularly outlandish. Surface has been duplicated n times; Microsoft has had the best, most polished implementation, that's all. If you look at the real Natal demos, they're certainly doable for a big company like

I highly recommend that you try it on real hardware if you're going to try it at all. It's much, much snappier, even on a Pentium II or III, on a real machine than in a VM.

Now you have me confused. People are watching videos on the Web, so they need 3GHz chips. Applications which require 3Ghz chips are not economical for use on the web and should be on the desktop. I think there's been some disconnect here, b

Not great for the 10-20% minorities which are supported by the government of the whole country. They'd probably face oppression under a new regime, or themselves begin to rebel.

I don't spend most of my time on the computer computing, though I'm sure there are people who do. They're not called e-mailers or Webbers either. There's nothing wrong with tweaking your environment to provide a more comfortable experience.

Now I'm curious. First of all, any random Core Duo could probably put a significant dent in that timeframe if all he had was an Athlon 64. Second, what would the effect of CUDA be on this? It was extremely useful in that MD5 contest earlier
