Yep haha. This happens quite frequently in HN, the famous [citation needed], so it might have been trained with data from here :/

I don't have it. I did it at work during lunch a few days ago so it's in incognito mode to not pollute the chats. I thought nothing of it until I saw this discussion, so I saw no reason to save/screenshot. It's ok if you

I don't think that's a problem here at all. The problem here is not doing tasks and outputting garbage output.

It's incredibly funny that a large chunk of the messages here are "you need to argue or you're doing it wrong" and another large chunk is "I stopped reading, OP is an idiot for arguing" . People are polarise

Exactly that. I provided a question, and when given an incomplete answer, I provided with more info. It refused to accept the additional info due to limited access to Youtube. There was nothing more than that. There were no expectations. Th

That's vanilla claude.com, without memory or custom prompt. I use another service for coding. It's interesting how my experience there is mirrored by the answers here, though!!!

You seem to be making a lot of assumptions about how I interacted in the messages to Claude. You also seem to be making a lot of assumptions about my understanding of the models, especially considering I just told a story :) I never said an

I never said otherwise? The point of the article stands: if providing more info than the model can access causes it to turn argumentative and refuse to comply, then it's a worse performance and a waste of money.

Exactly that. I can give an example. After watching Legal Eagle, I asked a legal-ish questions about the Bricks and Minifigs case. Claude was outdated about the case and gave me some outdated info, so I tried to update it with the info I ju

Yep, someone points it to GP down below. One needs to apply for immigration again in the next country if they want to travel for more than a vacation.

I believe the point was more that Germany can accept lots of immigrants being a large country, and freedom of movement will allow them inside all countries, which can lead to backlash.

Another productivity boost I'm seeing is from $COMPANY is asking devs to let AI do the design, instead of having a designer do it. I have a dirty secret: I do the design myself. Productivity gains are still there. People are amazed at

In some cases there's also no preparation or verification happening at all, which massively inflates the productivity gains of AI. Lots of VCs and investors asking companies to move into "trust the AI" mode. I once consulted

Sure but if PRs get rejected, nobody has to "tidy upp (sic) later". That's not prolific, that's just producing slop, with AI otherwise. I'm just tired of developers pretending that low output is some sort of silver

It could also potentially be that GP is making atomic PRs, while everyone else is just making 5000-line PRs with multiple responsibilities that just gets merged with "LGTM". But of course HN has to with the most uncharitable inter

Different people just have different concepts of what's garbage and what's not. There seems to be some kind of AI hysteria going on, with people becoming so enamoured with the AI that they accept anything it produces as if it'

Astro itself uses React. It can use other libraries with it too, or just plain HTML, but it’s not in the same space. React can’t work on the backend by itself without Astro, Next.js, etc, or some hand-made micro-framework.

▲
by

Yep. It’s also an attitude problem. A lot of devs are able to up-skill just fine, but some are downright demeaning towards anything they don’t understand, or towards anything that doesn’t come from a FAANG. “HTML only? Nobody is doing it!”

Small correction: it's other frameworks that require you to opt-out, most notably Next.js. Although I've been seeing so many people confusing Next.js with React lately... Astro itself works just fine with React, and it can still b
