There are tens of attributes that can be used to identify you and generate a unique id of it. Cookies are just the 101. Canvas fingerprinting, extensions, screen resolution and etc. I read it somewhere that FB is pre-creating profiles for t

I have never ever thought avionics software development would be in such a condition that you described in the link. I am surprised to say the least. I have always imagined avionics developers in a different way. Like having a thick ruleboo

For those who would like to have a solid understanding of how Web works, I would definitely recommend David J. Malan's CS75 lecture 0. (the first lecture). He has a positive vibe and the pace is optimal, so you will really enjoy the le

I am not an expert on the language but wrote couple of Elixir/Erlang applications. I would love to learn more about the problem you are describing. Using Elixir umbrella, isn't each child application on their own and you don'

It is so underrated how easy to use scheduling with Erlang/Elixir. Plus Supervisor/children concept makes it so easy to have a system that runs for years.

Just a speculation; Apple must be working something really big for years with a lot of engineers shifted to that secret project. I am seeing lots of products not getting enough attention for the last 2-3 years. - Safari is moving really slo

Not specifically Erlang but I have used Elixir and it was one of the rare languages that blew my mind when it comes to new ways of thinking when implementing things. How not to love some of these features! [first, second | remaining_of

Thanks for the reply. Maybe it has changed over the time but what i have meant was mostly about the way an application is built with golang. Let me give you an example, it might be easier for me to explain it this way. Writing a web applica

Golang's not being an opinionated software is the main reason I was not able to passionately start learning this software. Most of the engineers have a bit of a picture in their mind when it comes to implement a specific function. But

Safari 12 is impressive when it comes to preventing browser fingerprinting and cross-site tracking. I wish it was cross platform. Not sure though how much it can do against Google.

Quite the contrary, I think Chinese people would benefit much more if Google would refuse to build a search engine with cencorship. By accepting their rules, Google would validate the cencorship that government is forcing to their citizens,
