Sure, another way to put that might be that I am more appreciative of how it works than the wife is. I agree about the setting, I just don’t think one way of feeling about the animations is more valid than another.

It’s so bad. My work just switched to Google from Dropbox and it performs much worse. Also everything about the client and the product just screams that Google doesn’t give a crap about it.

Ok, but the point is that it used to take even less time than it does now, and ideally things would get faster as technology advances.

That’s right. They can take away the stuff the culture depends on, they can take away the workplace you feel so secure in, but the compensation is written into the contract. Plus that’s the actual reason why we all get up in the morning and

You mean, what if you’re a libertarian who hates the government so bad they want a job working for it all day? Probably more common than you think

I don’t think the point GP is making is cynical. I think what GP is talking about is cynical.

Remember: nobody knows anything. Especially, especially political pundits. The entire class is full of outrageously clueless people.

I think it might be more idiomatic, and more in the direction of what the author seeks, to check `my_string.present?` which is false for nil and empty string.

Ugh, that phrase is so grim. I kinda wish people in this industry would just tell each other to “shut up and deal with it” if that’s what they effectively mean.
