I tend to agree with you that nations are essentially trying to optimize for wealth under their jurisdiction, but I don't think that _necessarily_ tells you anything about how they'll treat polygyny.

The idea is that if there is less supply, you ideally want there to also be less demand. If supply decreases but there's also a ton of cash splashing around, then people try to use it to get things... But there's not enough things

Because not all wealth is liquid, the future purchasing power of the money you'd get from the assets matters as well. We've seen about 11% inflation since 2019 already, but the m1 money supply increased by about 40% during this ti

The M1 money supply increased by 40% during that time though. We've already realized a ~10% increase in the CPI. Presuming that houses are included in this metric, those are currently pretty inflated in value. As of December 31st 2021,

Obviously "late-stage" is a continuum. Capitalism is always "progressing", and you can draw a line wherever you want and say: "That's it, that's where it crosses the line into what people will no longer

I love my Ergodox EZ. I'd recommend a split keyboard to anybody who has their fingers on keys for more than a couple hours a day. My shoulders and upper back feel so much better, and I swear I even look better because my posture has i

You may be surprised to find that more than just your chair is affecting your back. For example, the standard height of almost every desk you'll get in the US is 29.5". This is just about perfect for someone who's 6 ft tall.

As far as American access to semiconductors goes, it doesn't matter if the takeover is peaceful or not. Chinese control over Taiwan could easily disrupt the supply chain through tariffs, export bans, backdoored hardware, etc etc.

If you're writing a bash package it'd probably be preferable to package for this rather than per-distro. By making it easier for maintainers, you get more packages - so maybe this is a good thing? As a user, I keep my dotfiles in
