Lets assume we would make self driving mandatory. It could: - reduce parking, so stuff can be more nearby - reduced car ownership, waymo is not gonna let you buy a car from them - walking 5 min to tram/metro might become interesting. E

The Feed Conversation Rate for fish is between 1.0 and 2.0kg of feed to produce 1kg of fish. For salmon this is 1.2 to 1.5kg. They are replacing the wild fish with alternatives and additives that are more sustainable.

When distributing LSP servers you need to compile them to the target platform. Afterwards you normally also need an extension or plugin to actually activate the LSP server. So it is possible that there is an LSP server, but they haven’t fig

But with lasers, it makes sense to route your packets via space. For example traffic to a different continent would be faster (and cheaper) through space. Furthermore, I assume lasers have more capacity than gateways, so they could increase

In EU it would be illegal to fire someone randomly for performance reasons. Note the word randomly, if you want to fire for performance reasons, you need to give formal warnings and provide chances to improve. On the other hand, mass firing

The cheap IKEA air purifier has another huge benefit: you can control it with a smart socket. So hook it up to a tasmota smart plug and you will have a smart purifier.

They are also sold as games on the App Store, but I think they use an older version of ScummVM and it was really broken for us. I am hoping some more iOS improvements/fixes could be done. These games are amazing (still are very funny t

That will not be because of an array data structure for the lines. When properly done, plugins/extensions are in separate process which do not hang the main UI thread. It helps if these processes has a low priority. Also, ionice is goo

Formatting a file could be a single operation that creates a single array of lines. Normally the formatter is a separate program that actually gets the input as string and returns a new string as output. So the extra concatenation and split

Yes. When typing normally there is no slowness because you’re swapping one string for another. But when pressing enter, pasting a bigger snippet, or deleting lines the slowdown is less noticeable. When you type a word, the deltas are tiny a

A text editor can use an array as data structure. You only need it to be fast during the typing, where you are only changing one line. But for entering new lines, the extra latency needed for rebuilding the array after pressing enter is not

The key differentiator as I understand it, is that they provide simple code for kick-starting your own React component library. You receive a Figma design, and you tweak the components. But yeah, it is clearly not yet finished, the dark mod

Some of these self hosted projects need five containers: frontend, backend, database, redis, and elasticsearch. Way too many if you ask me. My preferred self hosted projects only need one container and has a embedded sqlite database. With t

Maybe they could earn money by fine tuning and ensuring it works perfectly for commercial customers. The open model is the base. But if you want to use it as a customer service bot, you need it to be safe and stop hallucinating.

You would not upgrade from the 5 to a 6, as it would be a small upgrade. You would likely want to upgrade from a 3, but the design is too old, the cameras are too small, and probably other problems. I think we need a very stable upgradable

I work next to a road in Amsterdam where cars are currently driving 50 and will have to drive 30. My view is that the cars always have to wait at the traffic lights, because it is too busy with traffic. So essentially they speed up to 50 ju
