The AUM of CLO CEFs are minuscule vs overall CLO market. The two highlighted in that article's graph have a combined AUM of less than $600mm while the overall CLO market has more than $600bn outstanding. CLOs are not being sold direc

Underwriting standards are definitely deteriorating and debt covenants are just crazy in some cases so in all likelihood, recoveries should be lower during this credit cycle. That said, a capital structure is a capital structure and loans

I don't disagree that incentive structures drive poor long-term decisions but that's separate from "omg complex 100000 page prospectus". Misaligned perspectives exist whether there's a prospectus or not.

These things are not sold to retail investors. If you're an institutional investor and don't know what you're investing in, that's on you.

I'd imagine lackluster pay and red tape eclipses this by far.

I don't personally disagree with that but CEOs are the public face of a company and he's running an American company where there is still stigma against marijuana. It does not show good judgment on his part.

I'd imagine that it probably is the last because most CEOs don't broadcast drug use in public.

I don't understand your assertion here. Should private individuals not be able to invest/lend money to others?

Advisory + securities/asset management divisions under a same business are firewalled/"Chinese wall"ed off and compliance is (usually) taken pretty seriously in that regard.

It obviously could have gone either way but given how adamant politicians were on guaranteed union jobs and Amazon's refusal to entertain the idea, I don't know what they would have been able to meet in the middle on.

How do you design a subsidy program that actually benefits everyone if one of the criteria is likability? The more grey areas you introduce into a program like this, the more cronyism and corruption kicks in which more than likely results i

I still don't see your point. No one acts as if housing supply is a magical fix-all to affordability. Almost all housing issues in America are caused by multiple factors and New York is no different.

Deblasio was also involved in the negotiations but yes, this is the real reason why this didn't go through. I can't imagine how much additional red tape would be tacked on if state and city legislators got involved in the process

No one opposing Amazon actually pieced out that portion of it as their reason for opposing it. Be honest. If the $500mm is the real beef with the whole thing then break it down vs jobs: $50mm/yr vs 25,000 jobs paying an average of $150
