> .co is a huge opportunity for squatters. You can get them at under a $1 per domain too if you bulk order them. But since it's a pre-order, the people who pay $300 get priority. I don't understand why they don't auction off the obvious

Is anyone else using this or f.lux. I thought I'd try out f.lux. It just kicked in ~30min ago and it's hurting my eyes. Unless there's something else causing my eyes to burn. Anyone else?

Ah, right. My thinking was that in the scenario proposed in the article, it doesn't matter what player 2 does (apart from the dice rolls, which is beyond their control anyway) they'll still lose. You only have to control the actions of play

This is also brought up in the comments of the article itself. Yes, the game could be over in fewer turns/dice rolls this way. But then, would someone really pay that much for the property at auction? Maybe not.

Don't get me wrong though, I totally agree that it was a cheap shot at the iPad. Although I can't imagine using the iPad to get things done, it seems pretty good for consuming content though.

Why? I've only used an iPad a couple of times and I didn't find it very easy to type on, especially if you need numbers, brackets, a dash etc. Maybe it's something you have to get used to. Or maybe you have to get one of the keyboard docks

Why joke, merchandising is good business. Look at the Star Wars franchise, over 30 years it's earned an estimated $22B of which $6.68B was generated at the box office. The largest chunk comes from merchandise ($9B). [1] Granted, kiddies mig

I read somewhere about a recommender system for movies (I think) and what they did is force a user to rate 5 random movies as part of the registration process. The movies weren't entirely random, but ones they thought were significant in id

I don't really think it's the same thing. They are making use of the land and providing a service to people (people need to park somewhere), not just trying to sell it to the highest bidder.

I understand that the page has to be public, but why include the email address there? The person who received the link knows what email address it applies to. Every opt out/unsubscribe page I've used didn't display my email.
