Sure, but Zig is bringing those to users and making headlines on HN. I think that’s generally a good thing. Bringing the best of prior languages together in a new package

I think even in the year of our lord 2016 there's room for a language with safe defaults but seamless interoperability with existing unsafe code. It's certainly an improvement on the status quo and provides an alternative to rewr

It has to be really bright before I will switch my ebook app or feed reader to black on white instead of white on black. At a certain point, white text on black just isn’t readable but the inverse is somehow.

Go and even TinyGo aren't a great fit for Wa because they have to bring along their own runtime including a GC. Go can't use WasmGC because it lacks support for interior pointers and unboxed heap primitives: https://gi

WebAssembly is neither web nor assembly. It’s a low level byte code format most similar to LLVM IR.

What about the top 10% or 20%? It would be just like using “reserve mode” but you’d get paid for it. And have the option to turn it off before a road trip.

Having it all laid out together like that makes it obvious how inconsistent it all is. The mental gymnastics to actually believe all that stuff must be incredible. I read the other day about a theory on to obviously false beliefs as a for

Oh thanks, I was reading about Skip and it seemed to be a transpilation tool. The new thing is Swift compiled to a native binary with the NDK and using a JNI bridge to interoperate with Kotlin APIs.

I really appreciate you having a full unlocked copy of the game with up front pricing and trying to solve this issue in a thoughtful way. In the old days, the free version would be a limited preview of the game, and would direct users to pu

How does transpiration work without GC? I would think all the Kotlin equivalents would be GC heap allocated objects.

That's crazy. It's a reversing valve. But you might also be comparing multi-stage variable load DC heat pumps with single stage air conditioners and not an actually equivalent air conditioner.

It’s fine for 1440p gaming but you way overpaid for the GPU versus a discrete GPU and a lower end CPU with socketed RAM. The CPU power of it and the high bandwidth integrated RAM aren’t the right performance trade offs for a gaming workload

“dGPU” usually means “discrete GPU”. Do you mean “iGPU” for “integrated GPU” instead? Strix Halo is also being marketed for gaming but the performance profile is all wrong for that. The CPU is too fast and the iGPU still not strong enough

2025 EVs aren’t double the range of 2020 EVs. The batteries and power electronics are on a learning curve but it’s 2-3% per year, not 10-15% like microprocessors.
