Not exactly, partial functions can be surjective, eg f :: Int -> Bool f 0 = True f 1 = False f n = f (n + 1) is surjective onto Bool but also partial (doesn't return for n > 1). In Haskell we say that when a function doesn't

I think it comes from the noise field being relatively smooth, and the particles taking such small steps each frame.

Do you know if the technique for rendering the graphs is similar to the one he outlines at the end of this article? https://www.iquilezles.org/www/articles/distance/distance.ht...

This is complicated. Certain areas see too much traffic in their primitive state and need infrastructure like a bathroom. In this case causation may be going the other way.

People are not obligated to tell you why they don't like what you say. It's nice when you do get a reason but to liken a downvote to "angry destruction without reason" is a major reach. You are not entitled to their time

Yeah I thought their counts for the number of dots they could render performantly were pretty low. I suspect they aren't doing any instancing because from what I know about three.js the API for creating instanced geometry is a bit more

Fairly sure you can do it in linear time and space without sorting.

Just because short videos aren't all technically GIFs, doesn't mean that people don't commonly understand "gif" to mean short video.

Actually you possibly could. Just because you think that's what NYC is like doesn't mean it's actually that way. I won't comment on Sf since I've never lived there.

I'm very excited by the fact that cities around America are slowly waking up to the idea that providing more spaces for cars instead of people makes living in them so much better.

For what it's worth plenty of kids get into rock climbing in nyc. There is a relatively high density of high quality gyms and nyc is 2 hours from one of the best climbing destinations in the country (in my admittedly biased opinion).
