I sold my X100 and it's the biggest regret I've ever had. I have a D600 with all the glass and an E-M5, both been sitting in the closet for too long now.

I get your point; I don't buy an iPhone and then complain when it won't load android. however , I've been able to load linux on almost any laptop I've bought for the last 20 years, so they are making a significant chang

the jeep hack (IIRC) got code exec in userland remotely, but relied upon talking to drivers to be able to flash the CAN chip. Of course, the whole thing was broken anyhow as everything was running root. But in almost everything else, I agre

I get the point of your comment, but at a minimum if this were indeed NSA work, at least they could monitor for exploitation of the same bug against targets they want to defend (which, given their network reach could be both public and priv

I'm actually also very intrigued as to how ARRL seem to wield so much influence. Don't get me wrong, I'm currently studying to get my technician license and think it's great, but the privileges and allowances given to ha

I'm currently going thru the process. It seems quite simple, buy the book[1], sign up for a $15 exam, do a bit of study (there's a test quiz trainer app on iOS), and you should be good. [1] https://www.amazon.com/AR

For starters, the ethics of vulnerability disclosure are such a broad subject, you're going to get 10 very different answers. A generally common approach is: * try to contact them via phone/email * if no response, contact a CERT a

I feel like these aren't that substantially different to things that have been useful since the stone age, slightly repackaged. Further, "by 2020" is a bit of a misnomer; these things are currently very useful.
