Meta-comment: Could we please fix the quoted-text-not-wrapping 'problem' on this site? I hate having to scroll x,000 pixels to read a comment just because someone is using <pre> or whatever it is. FF3 on OS X.

I do not see why you must lower the build quality in order to lower the cost. Yes, lowering the build quality saves money in the short-term, but there are other ways to save money, no? As they're learning now, going the low quality route

I don't understand. You're saying that GM could build cars of similar quality to Toyota or Honda if they were only able to charge $2,000 more? I defy any one of the big three to release a minivan comparable to the Toyota Sienna for anywher

What worked for us was to get in their face as content, not as advertising. If possible, develop an API that puts your content or functionality in and on the outlets your non-techies frequent.

You shouldn't lump all reporters together. I work at a daily metro newspaper and folks there tend to look at the talking heads on TV as more of the media frenzy types, particularly the 24 hr news channels that need to fill 24 hrs every day

Not 101 (technically it was labeled 161), but at the Univ. of Chicago (where I went), Spivak was the first Calc class on the honors track--i.e. the honors variant of 101. And that course did exactly what he's talking about.
