For me, I want to be able to query data faster. SQL queries on S3 data are affected by read latencies. When you're doing huge aggregations and joins say on Parquet files, the engine has to read the Parquet metadata multiple times, and

In learning any new area of study, I’ve found that sociology to be super important. Rather than just reading the literature, I try to be immersed on the community and to overhear what people are talking about (r/localllama on Reddit is

Check the sibling comment for a primer on LLM concepts. I think if you survey AI at a high level you won’t encounter the term. But if you survey or keep track with LLMs it’s an important concept that is widely known and discussed. It’s very

Definitely good to define acronyms. Also, here’s a good primer on LLM concepts which should help in following discussions. https://flyte.org/blog/getting-started-with-large-language-m... It’s a bit meta but it’s also u

RAG does not guarantee elimination of hallucination it seems. If the foundation model's training outweighs what it is in the external source, it will still hallucinate. Interestingly ChatGPT-4 gets it right. I tried your first question

What if you need more cultural foods? Costco and Aldi only have very generic foods. Costco has the odd frozen food and snacks from other cultures, but otherwise it's just a lot of run-off-the-mill type food.

As the other comment suggested, it's the discrete subscript. Normally t is notation for continuous time, and k the discrete time subscript, but all this is just convention. yₖ = Chₖ

I dreaded statistics in high school. When I started out with probability I was excited and thought this stuff was useful. But when I got the about two-tailed tests and p-values, it was all just so opaque. I didn't feel it was that usef

There are a few coffee shops that open late (a Starbucks that opens 24h) but they're all on the east side (suburbs). I would have expected them be in the city, but I guess there's no late night coffee culture there -- it's ba

Could you try another model like Mistral 7b and see if triggers the same error? (And check your available memory) I have 16GB too and have no trouble running even 13B models.

I’m very skeptical of LLM benchmarks because I’ve been testing models through Ollama and none of the open source 7b models are at even close to GPT4 (or Open AI’s GPT 3.5 implementation) in daily usage, despite what benchmarks say. LLM resu

No, but I look forward to the day I can trust Mistral results. Right now I have low confidence in them for any use that require at least a reasonable level of correctness. GPT4 on the other hand is correct enough for many use cases and much

How? I have an M2 Pro and I run 7B and 13B models through Ollama and also LM Studio. Because there’s no CUDA, the speed is much slower than ChatGPT. The answers from 7B are also not at the same quality as ChatGPT. (Lots of mistakes and hall

I have a Leap V2 too from 2021 ($300 used). Best chair ever. So glad I got this instead of the much cooler looking Herman Miller Aeron -- the Aeron is amazing, but the Leap is more adjustable and has a more comfortable fabric seat.
