I think the "randomness" is Diablo games is what makes it really addictive. I remember playing Diablo 1 and I couldn't stop playing because I couldn't wait for the next item to drop. Also, a low-end machine could run it!

Find different ways in doing it. When I do not have time, I do it like how I did it in my previous projects/work. When I have some time, I try do it in a different way - look at my previous code and then try to improve.

I played around with backbone.js for a couple of days and gave up. The documentation is there but it doesn't help someone who knows 0% about the concept. Then I tried Knockout.js - It has a very nice quickstart. http://learn.knockoutjs.com

Does it have "smart" word wrapping like Sublime Text 2? I think it is one of the killer features for me. I sometimes need to work with a small screen and need word-wrapping on.

Firebug. It takes a lot of space. I work on 17" 5 year old Macbook Pro and could not imagine working on an 11" screen. Also ShiftIt and Alfred are probaly the most useful productivity apps I have used.
