You don't have to, because any programmer group is already usually male dominated.

Wish the author tried job search platforms, since I'm curious how they compare to old fashioned recruiting. Job platforms are those where the candidate is the customer.

It's more for coding time, using the text editor plugins not browsing time. Using the api you can distinguish between browsing activity and coding activity, but the website displays it as the same activity right now.

I use https://wakatime.com for this. I use a Git branch for each feature/Jira ticket and at the end of the day WakaTime tells me how long I coded in each branch.

Was just about to say the same thing after watching the video. Here is the relevant part showing the sandbox: https://youtu.be/EQcUmSEkr2Q?t=1m14s

That's why I built https://wakatime.com.. . which also integrates with Slack to update you on how much you worked automatically.

Cool stuff! Looks like you're using it to track your programming... have you seen https://wakatime.com ? It took more than ~10.5 hrs to build it but it's fully automatic!

https://wakatime.com if you're tracking programming hours. It's automatic so you won't forget to turn on/off a timer.

Since you're working in Sublime Text, you should check out this automatic time tracker that works with ST2 and ST3: http://wakatime.com/ Full disclosure: I built it.

This is a great way to prevent people from hearing your music... nobody wants to trust your "Album" app to not contain a virus.

WakaTime has been bitten by this lack of granularity too... it hurts integration usage when we ask for code access when we only need commit log messages.

http://c3js.org/ is the free version of HighCharts, and combined with D3.js you get a powerful and flexible charting library.

You should make it optionally tweet to the users who unfollowed you, to try and get them back as followers.

If you have more than a few teams, Slack becomes unusable. This alternative client doesn't freeze up like Slack: http://meetfranz.com/

This is big news. I wonder if it makes GitHub, Trello, Atlassian, Zube, Waffle.io, & HuBoard nervous...

https://wakatime.com/ full disclosure: I built it, but still use it every day to track my features and productivity. Trello for closed-source projects and GitHub issues works perfectly for open-source projects.

Car batteries can explode from sparks... I wouldn't want to be disconnecting the battery every day increasing those chances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_TnsHu2u4c

Exactly! I guess people used to the Ruby syntax are just desensitized or don't know how much of a joy programming can be without having to type 'end' everywhere.

Yes, it's my preference. I also don't like reading/writing Lua. Python doesn't need end, neither does Crystal.

Stopped reading when I saw the `end` keyword... the most annoying part of Ruby. Edit: I'm getting hella downvoted but I'm leaving this here. Ruby fanboys can't silence me!!! ;)
