I used Scala for a project of mine, and I relied on Eclipse for the build environment... I didn't use sbt directly, and incremental compilation was very fast. I've recommended Lighttable because it's a very dynamic editor: it

I've not jumped in Clojure (yet)... but exposure to functional programming can do you good. I'm using CoffeeScript (node & angular) currently, but Clojure has transformed the way I code (way less imperatively). My only problem

You could install a Clojure environment and try an editor-repl-based tutorial like https://github.com/swannodette/lt-cljs-tutorial I highly recommend Lighttable ( http://www.lighttable.com/ ) as it

Nice ! I like how you've organized the website. IMHO : - 60 minutes workouts may be a little intimidating for some - you could tag workouts "@Home" vs. "@the Gym", depending on required equipment - maybe you sho

The rich get richer faster than others because they're better at it... That's why they're rich in the first place. Does it take 700 pages to understand it? Think about it: most people don't even try to get richer !

Very clear explanation! Thanks. RemoteForward is often not explained with a plausible example. Hint for an addition: I find it easier to specify tunneling in ~/.ssh/config file (LocalForward and RemoteForward directives).

Good to hear Xtend got better... but too late for me, I'm afraid. I learnt to like Scala, but I'm working with node.js now (coffee-script)... I think Scala is a good language, but maybe it has too many features for me. Xtend did n

I've used xtend last year, before I switched to Scala. Eclipse integration is better with Scala (autocompletion among others), and Scala has more to offer. Biggest pain point: stack traces point to the Java translations, not to xtend&#

Artists have always been the collateral damage of the music editors, not of the tech giants. Editors got the biggest share, artists were given the rest. The tech industry might change the music industry if it can replace editors some day...

Yes, Java had no JIT in 1996... But it had corporate traction, and good marketing ("it's an internet technology!"). Nowadays, I choose the language I want to work with, but I don't switch back to Stk because of speed.

I'm not sure node.js is faster than Java... My experience shows the contrary, but I switched to Node.js nonetheless. Node is fast... enough. And socket.io justifies using Node :-)

Looks a lot like a bug somewhere in Chrome... Wandering on the site, CPU goes back to normal after some time, but I couldn't find what the problem is with simple inspection (JS profiling says 99% idle). Bug reproduced on Chrome. Safari
