Serious question, as I enjoy posting on HN and don't want to run afoul of the community. Was my comment negged because I was seen as hijacking a thread by making general comments about web apps rather than addressing Webflow specifically? O

Don't be sad, it's only the top post because I just posted it. As for how it's relevant, I believe I'm saying in a roundabout way that I'd much prefer Webflow if it was a native app, while making a larger point about my reservations over we

This is really nice, but I just can't get too excited over web apps. Whether it's not having direct access to my source files, relying on the service to stay up (either from server or business issues), working when offline, not having acces

For an alternative body to that headline, you could say: A) A 30 year history and culture of setting and raising the bar in application design, attracting like-minded designers and developers to their platforms who continually one-up Apple'

I'm reminded of Homer Simpson confessing during an AA meeting that he was so desperate for a drink he ate the dirt under the bleachers at the football stadium. C'mon world, enough with the fossil fuels.

Almost every single feature of Twitter (including its logo!) was created by third party devs or users. Not surprising that when the API is severely restricted, the fun stops.

As humans, we tend to aspire to more than absolute necessity. Go too far and it turns into indulgence. Personally, I'd like to continue living in a place that allows for movement beyond 180 degrees of rotation.

Well I love share sheets, iCloud syncing, and AirPlay, personally. Gatekeeper is a great compromise between a fully locked down system and a fully vulnerable one. And the new Safari is the best Safari ever, as the saying goes. So I count 4.

FCP may not be a pro application for editors who use tape, but it is most definitely a pro app for editors who have gone fully digital. I doubt Apple spent millions of dollars and several years to rebuild FCP from the ground up in order to

What is rotten exactly? Besides the fact the FCP X debuted with some missing features that were quickly restored in dramatically improved form.

I'd say the economic harm of bootlegging 10+ year old games from large publishers on platforms that are no longer produced is close to zero.

I am not a programmer, and I've used Macs since 1987. As far as I know, I haven't ever used a package manager and don't really know what they are beyond something that lets you install and delete apps. If I want an app, I download it. If I
