Mathematicians get a similar mental state from the release of dopamine that rewards working on and successfully solving ever more complex problems. I've also seen engineers comment similarly about it, and it sounded quite like what my

What are you specifically working on decentralizing? Do you have an end goal in mind for what a perfectly decentralized world would look like? Eg. a SBC in every home & office running a mailserver, webserver, etc Edit: I think decentral

Just curious, what was the biggest cost, storage, CPU, RAM, bandwidth or matinence? Any kinda breakdown you could give? Just trying to figure out what made SaaS a good value vs hosting on site, were you able to get rid of a server & the

Eh, but the DNS server isn't necessarily the same as the bootstrapping server for the WebRTC API, and in most cases it generally would not be.

Yes and no, Vulkan is a very low level API that leaves quite a bit of how CPU & GPUs are used up to the game engine developer. This can be good or bad, unlike OpenGL or DirectX you can really optimize your engine, but that is labor inte

I've seen lots of potentially usable p2p CDN ideas, from storing data in each visitors browser & using them to serve other visitors said static content, to projects like IPFS where you can have a distributed website. The ultimate p

It seems common knowledge these days among the slightly but not too technically inclined that any new major project should use a LAMP stack as its base. People see Facebook, Amazon, and many others running PHP & MySQL on Linux at scale

Same thing happened with Allwinner's SOCs, when the one point of contact that was providing the source of their modified kernel left, Allwinner chipsets stopped getting rapid mainline kernel support. The silver lining though is that th

The Raspberry Pi foundation picked a chip they were familiar with as Broadcom employees. I can't fault them for that, but at this point chips like the Allwinner H3 & A series have better support mainlined than the Raspberry Pi 2 &a
