You just described spaces for indentation. A tab is a special ascii character, which most IDE's replace with spaces if you want to (like you described).

The problem with Bitbucket is that it does not integrate with many dev tools and services. Even the most popular CI tools such as CircleCI and Travis do not support Bitbucket and work with only GitHub. I don't mind paying a small price

You don't have to use your own phone number. I use a Google Voice number for similar purposes. It also works online so I don't need to worry when my phone is out of battery.

Yup it's actually trivial with Python. I have not done it yet because (1) most browsers support SVG already, and (2) I'm hosting on App Engine (free) right now which has a lot of limitations :(

When you work on a team that requires code reviews (pull requests) before every check-in, the "body" portion of the commit does not really make sense as the developer pretty much has to include that information in the code review

I have a Google App Engine instance, and it started getting a lot of random requests, which may be related to this. My website had 5,000 requests yesterday (normally less than 50). The logs indicate a lot of these: 221.145.183.89 - -
