This is a core problem with C++. Until we have packages, you might want to consider another language. Rust is usually a good choice.

Yeah, I think it's common to associate a hn comment with criticisms :) (in the negative sense).

Sorry I'm not going to look at specifics, but I'm not arguing with the article; I'm agreeing with it.

I find it highly suspect when a data structure uses independently allocated nodes tha contain actual pointers (as opposed to indirection ints). I know people like to make the tree just be another node, but it's really really important

You're confusing the straw man fallacy with an ad hominem attack.

I'd agree with this solution, but unfortunately in many (_AMERICAN_) schools, retaliation against bullying shifts punishment from the bully to the victim.

If your water is literally smelly than it is either something wrong with your pipes or psychosomatic. I can't imagine that the entire city of San Diego is distributing water that has an odor. I have never had this problem in San Diego.

If it's healthy and your kids don't mind you absolutely should give it to your kids. Maybe they'll develop a less sensitive, more environmentally friendly palette.

I found it was straight forward enough to not necessitate any tutorials, even at a young age. I would say maybe just watch a video on the topic. I know for one thing a lot of colleges have recorded sessions explaining. The only real black m

As others have pointed out, the difference is a sacrifice in compilation time to more quickly implement a langauge very semantically similar to rust. If it's not super similar to rust, you are simply jumping through more hoops than it

This sounds like it is written by a person with little experience with compilers. The reason you compile to SSA is because it's easy to perform optimizations on. At some point you compile Rust to LLVM.

A large part of writing optimization passes for LLVM consists of figuring out how methods/functions interact with the iterators in terms of validation and ownership. A lot of LLVM is undocumented unfortunately and it's not always

I believe that the heavy use of iterators in LLVM was a mistake. The ownership mechanics has never not been a source of extreme confusion and annoying bugs. But, it's still a great backend.

Well obviously there's a lot more boiler plate than OpenGL, but Vulkan's goal isn't to replace OpenGL in cases like yours. And honestly, 800 lines of configuration is probably a godsend for people who want it, considering th
