From that article, something I haven't seen before: To verify the error message that you receive in Excel 2007, press Ctrl+Shift+I. The following number is displayed in the lower-right corner of this error message dialog box:

First impression is that you may be a great engineer, but you need a great designer if you want to sell your book. I'm still interested in the content, but it's a definite turn-off to see a site that looks like something I designe

Quick question if Sift is hanging out in these threads: Why would you use $val arguments in your JSON API? It seems like nearly any other symbol would have been a better choice, since PHP, Ruby, Perl and others use $ in string interpolation

At least you can see the X - for some reason I only see the middle-third of the overlay, and can't close it. If I were interested in signing up for their list, I couldn't do that either. Definitely a UX fail.

I'm all for "crowdfunding" startups, but I don't like the way that WeFunder is going about it in my case. I went through their questionnaire and found out I'm not allowed to invest - fair enough, the rules will get fixed eventually. Then to

You definitely didn't get it right. =) That's one of the joys of startup life, A/B test it until you do! Even for a "successful" site (>1mm MAU) $2,000 a month feels insanely expensive. The performance difference between this and GA ($0

Not at all for a monthly fee. Sedo has the equivalent service, point your DNS at them and they serve a "This domain is for sale" landing page with ads, and they get a commission on the sale if it happens.

I don't know Java, clearly, as I don't even know what to name a file that's going to do the override. Also, as mentioned elsewhere, SecureRandom seems the easier target as it's a pluggable interface for entropy providers. That said, can't y

At least part of the answer for "Unsubscribe to junk snail mail" exists - https://www.catalogchoice.org/ "Glamera" too, http://www.google.com/glass/ I'd just like the "Time Stopper", a lot of the rest of these could be solved without an

Those are great, and I've used 1Password and LastPass to generate / store passwords for a couple years now, but they're not a proper solution. If I have my super-secure password that I generated in my browser, Chrome will sync it and let me

(FYI ConvertKit HTTPS is broken, at least on Chrome/Android.) This was a no-brainer to buy: * I want to do EXACTLY this form of marketing, and it's cheaper at $100 to buy it than build it, so +1. * This is not my core competency, so anothe

I might be an emotionless robot or something, but I don't get the furore over this. Everyone writes crap code sometimes (viz. github.com/007 aka craptown USA). Just because you are "exceedingly talented" or have "well-used" projects doesn't

This seems like a much better idea than /somereddituser. Also, if @OP keeps the same scheme with /username, you need to have an "Edit" button. I typoed the first time, and now I'm stuck with a bad redirect.

Anyone know how this compares to the NIF in terms of temperature? They talk about terawatts and megajoules versus degrees, and as a non-physics geek I can't equate the two. NIF press release, 522.6TW and 1.855MJ - https://lasers.llnl.gov/n
