And Node, which has a community about 20 times larger than Elixir. It's really far from certain Elixir is gonna survive long term. Truth is besides quite rare use cases Elixir isn't a good fit for most companies.

So you need to read a whole book to deploy Elixir, people say Elixir is easy and straightforward but I think they are downplaying the amount of overhead BEAM/OTP/deploying brings to the table.

So what's the upside for you with Sinatra? I'm embarrassed to having been doing Ruby for 8 years and never touching it. Just never saw the need - Rails in API mode seems adequate.

I really gave Spring Boot a shot, it's just way above my head. Never felt like I had a good sense of knowing what the heck was going on what with all the Beans and annotations. But my Java was pretty poor - that could be the reason. Ho
