Personally, I think Gitlab needs to match with features of Github and its reliability.

Gitlab CI pipelines also validation errors in the Pipeline editor but when you then run it's all good. Super confusing these errors which aren't errors issues. Such a time sink

NPM Private registry doesn't really work for me with Yarn and NPM v7 when trying to run binaries. This is a major blocker for a lot of things. Also the `npm install` is really flaky multiple times a day I get 404s for packages in the p

I still think if the research is paid or subsidised by tax payers money it should be freely accessible. Maybe EU should do something good and make it part of the rules. All wishful thinking of course

Well, if it makes it easy to cancel a subscription or get a refund. Sure. And yes, if I don't need to use Paypal I am happy to pay a 15-30% premium. I am worried that using other payment systems make it much harder to achieve that.

I am fine with them allowing other payment systems. As long its not OR OR so if apps start to avoid using the built-in payment solution of Apple and Google then I see it as a negative. I can't think of needing to use like Paypal to pay

Sadly, currently, you can't use Yarn v1 or v2 or NPM v7 with GitLab private npm registry due to outstanding issues which is quite a shame. I love to use yarn workspaces but I have to wait for GitLab to fix the npm metadata issue first.
