Personally, I don't really understand these water crises in the US. They already had issues in Flint ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_water_crisis ) and now in Jackson? Why is so difficult to get safe drinking

If you text messaging is free. Does that include MMS? I am not sure why it a blue or green bubble is a big problem? You would still be able to send messages or media content? The only difference I can see is the lack of end-to-end encryptio

I only use the Messages app to get MFA codes for different applications. Don't they use something like Whatsapp in the US? I think it mostly a non-issue in Europe

Wondering how long it will take for it to work outside the Us

by wdb 4y ago
Nice phone, but the price hike outside the US shouldn’t have been necessary. Especially when they suggest the price won’t go up during the event

Yeah, I have a similar story myself. They still have my money hostage. You are amazing going to reach out to CSSF tomorrow

I have the MBP 14” M1 Pro and typically you can’t hear the fan or it gets hot but during the recent heatwave here in Europe the MacBook got really hot and couldn’t comfortably use it while sitting on the couch. So it can get pretty hot but

Anyone aware of an AI / art model that allows to convert pixel art into vector drawings? A nice open-source model for that would be really handy :) Still fascinating how these DALE-E and Stable Diffusion models work though

Bakerloo and Central line are screeching noisy; I would nearly think my hearing went worse since I moved to London
554.
by wdb 4y ago
Yes, and Central line can get hot during the summer. Only it’s quite a walk from Bakerloo line to Elisabeth line
555.
by wdb 4y ago
Yes, it’s brilliant and you can avoid Bakerloo and Central line to get to Liverpool/Bank station

Don’t understand why they have to announce it? Aren’t bonuses typically linked to company performance?

Maybe the person is not declaring income (happens a lot) or they do some travelling to neighbour country shenanigans. There quite a few agencies that help you avoid taxes as a digital nomad

Why would I want advertisements when I paid £1000+ for my phone? I can semi understand when you are on a paid schedule with Apple or a mobile provider but when I paid cash at the Apple Store?

Burned too much time on side (tech) projects during the Pandemic. Now I am slowly trying to return to doing hobbies, painting :) I have decided that it's better to have hobbies that aren't related to your day-to-day job

Maybe I should consider doing the same for the Mews houses in Westminster :)

I really like json5’s comments support, especially when json is used for configuration files so you can explain specific confit without needing to do it in a separate file

I am not convinced that 'not using yaml' and then show a visual ui to define ci pipelines is a great selling point. I definitely wouldn't want to define that through a UI. Instead I think high level of testability of such CI
