I didn't intend to use the term "final" as based on your definition, but rather was just trying to make it clear we were talking about graduating out of beta, since the term stable is somewhat overridden with Sublime Text. We

Please see https://forum.sublimetext.com/t/rfc-default-package-control-... for the reason that SideBarEnhancements was re-added. In this case not re-adding it would lead to continued tracking of users, which seems to m

This has definitely always been a concern among certain users of the Package Control community. Since the Sublime Text python environment is run as the user, without a sandbox, it is possible a rogue package would upload all of your data so

A new version of SideBarEnhancements is out with the stats removed. You should get automatically updated the next time you restart Sublime Text or manually upgrade the package.

They apparently paid the author (Tito) to add it in. Originally he had pulled all of his packages from the default channel because he was unhappy that we require semver for all new packages (to allow newer features to work). After a bunch o

Whenever dealing with financial websites, I am always extremely suspicious of a website that does not have an EV certificate because of the added level of scruitiny applied to such certs. The number of mis-issued DV certs, and typos means t

1) Yes, well over 90% of Package Control users are running Sublime Text 3. We haven't brought it out of beta yet because there were still a number of rough edges and improvements we wanted to make before then. Jon mentioned in the last

I didn’t like the idea of moving the annotations out-of-band with the parameter names. Aesthetically you also loose syntax highlighting.

Ever since mypy started gaining attention, I’ve been looking for a way to write using Python 3 annotations and strip the annotations for release so that the code can run on Python 2. I never was able to find anyone talking about that goal w
