Just yesterday someone asked if there was a way to verify if the email from a purchase was leading to the correct domain to log in to. They wanted to make sure they weren’t being phished. How I wished there was a simple button they could ha

I'm not particularly interested in the cryptography specifically, but rather the network protocol, in order to be able to obtain information about the connection.

My personal learning style generally involves learning in layers, and I would imagine a high-level overview of TLS 1.2 would be good since it provides some frame of reference before jumping into TLS 1.3, which from what I understand is an e

If this is something you are interested in, but you are looking for a slightly higher-level intro to TLS, albeit TLS 1.2, I highly recommend reading through http://blog.fourthbit.com/2014/12/23/traffic-analysi

A well-tested, regularly audited web browser that is subjected to hacking competitions with monetarily significant rewards. However, at this point I think we are WAY off the original topic. :-)

Auditing rust and cargo sounds like easily 1000x more work than copying some source files.

> The problem is that ligature substitution is “dumb” in the sense that it only considers whether certain characters appear in a certain order. It’s not aware of the semantic context. At least in Sublime Text this is not true. We tokeniz

If you find any bugs with the JavaScript syntax, definitely report them at https://github.com/sublimehq/Packages/issues . As far as I know, our syntax definition is pretty spot on with the current state of the lang

Our support of advanced JavaScript is actually extremely good. It would appear that screenshot is using a third-party syntax definition named Vue Component that doesn't seem to be very robust.

We actually fixed a whole slew of bugs in the latest dev cycle - over 100 issues were resolved on the community tracker. I've made a point of assigning issues to milestones with each build: https://github.com/SublimeTex

From looking at the table at the end of the article, it would seem it is difficult to get PDF signature verification completely correct, but it is possible. That said, having worked on PDF signature generation in the past, the spec is very

The why has to do with how Windows and macOS approached scaling. On macOS, to get anything above 100%, you render the whole interface at 200% (including layout), and the OS scales the resulting pixel output to the display's scale. On W

I did try both the kernel open source drivers and AMD’s pro edition. Most likely you aren’t using Display Port 1.2 MST, which is what the Dell UP3214Q requires for 60hz 4K. My testing was with vanilla Ubuntu 18.04.

I see it repeated all the time that AMD has great open source drivers, but their latest drivers on their 5xx line card couldn’t run my 4K display at 60hz over Display Port without splitting the screen into two separate X displays. Nvidia’s

The Python 2 to 3 transition is completely unlike what you describe, at least from my perspective. I regularly write pure Python with no translation, 2to3 or six module usage that runs on Python 2.6-3.7.

It will be interesting to see if Flatpak, Snap or AppImage ends up being the predominant force in the new wave of Linux packaging. Knowing Linux, users will probably expect projects to support all three. :-)
