Consider trying SyncThing to sync your files between your personal devices, rather than entrusting access to your data to a cloud provider. I did this recently and the experience has been surprisingly way easier and better than I could have

My favorite way to watch this slow down is to introduce some node workloads into the build workflow.

I think this really depends on whether you have a good way to track your dotfiles or not, as configuration is accretive with time: you make changes as you find you need to scratch an itch. Config changes are lost without some way to sync a

I'm curious if the Go crawler would correctly back-off with "429 Too Many Requests" responses. Either way it could save the bandwidth.

The author called out that profit centers and cost centers are similar, but different, to the staff vs line distinction being made. Why equate them as the same here?

You don't even have to go that far. Seattle continues to be dead just about every night of the week, compared to the before times. Head north 15 miles to Lynnwood in the next county over however, and things have continued to remain rea

Growth investors don't like piles of cash doing nothing either so much. Especially with inflation.

This may be medical disinfo. Listerine was long considered a great remedy and preventative care against flus and colds for a long time. This was lobbied against, they were sued and the ftc made them stop advertising as such.

Mitigation between VMs is only effective when done from the hypervisor. Mitigations within a VM can only counter intra VM data leaks.

PE Ratios are only comparable for like-kinded businesses, and are not indicative of anything on their own. There is no particular value they "should be", and a target of e.g. 15 is only an observed average of past behavior, often

This is still very disingenuous on Google's part. When many people, myself and family included, first associated our own custom domains with them, there _were_ no "Google Apps" other than gmail. Google Calendar wasn't a

Unlike Google's wifi products, all the eeros I own, including the first generation versions, still regularly get updated and are still supported. They also still function when newer revisions are added to the mesh.

The problem is that, as a product, it's just not built to be sustainable with zero effort. The phone apps end up having to keep up with the underlying android+ios stacks' ever changing details, but even worse are the cloud service

Doesn't surprise me. Google has trouble planning for anything longer than 1-2 OKR cycles, which nowadays means 6-12 months (previously 3-6 months). Sustainability planning and long term support just aren't in their wheelhouse as a

Climate change idiots are no better, relying on lies and bullshit "consensus" numbers that are selectively biased by their funding. I'm sure you would find results that are diametrically opposed to climate change if you looke

All energy on Earth is derived from the Sun. The amount of radiation from the Sun, and the fact that it isn't constant nor uniform, is conveniently ignored in all the climate science I've seen. It is also awfully very convenient
