I've been using LogMeIn from my chromebook (and Droid X) and it works great.

Seems like a great idea but not something I'd pay for.

Is the 1 GHz A5 twice as fast as the 1 GHz A4 or are you saying that dual core means twice as fast?

While I don't really agree with the rest of the article, this was very well put: > After all till yesterday Android was the state of art in voice interaction. But apparently Google is not able to connect the dots: they solve a given pro

I'm not positive but I would guess that most voice processing on Android is local such as "call mom". Stuff like transcribing voice mails for Google Voice is done on the cloud.

My company has many very small projects that needed to be archived yet weren't completely closed (possible to re-open for new feature). We started with GitHub but were forced to leave since they didn't have any viable plans - ended up movi

You don't understand because it's bullshit from a notoriously biased source. The iPad is high end, Fire is low end. But if the iPad "replaces laptops" so will the Fire. There's no argument.

I had to look up "Dear Sophie", and it was a great video. However, the underlying tech is just email with attachments - nothing new. Facebook's timeline seems to be quite a bit more, with a visual aspect and ability to comment, share, etc

Adding more animations decreases battery life - this is a no-brainer. The problem is that Flash is everywhere, so enabling Flash will decrease battery life. If you replaced all online animations with the current state HTML5, your battery

The 48-hour gaming competition had very few JS and many Flash games. The main goal of Zygna is to create a game that's as accessible as possible (penetratrion). Right now, Flash provides the highest penetration.

I think you hit the nail on the head - something very few people understand. I don't doubt that HTML5 will eventually catch up to the functionality of Flash... in 10 years or so. Until then? Native Apps and hacks to make basic layout and

This is true. Perhaps competitions like this will help the public realize that Flash isn't dead after all (unlike the countless articles that have appeared on HN and claim this).

You seem to have a lot of negativity - what's wrong with starting free to get a foot in the market? Also, being "on steroids" is and has always been a good thing. They also say that it's an "evolved" version of Instapaper.

This is just for video, most websites already support non-Flash video using one of the hundreds of Javascript frameworks.

There's no doubt Flash transformed the web but not all of it was good. Flash was (and still is) buggy - how many browsers have crashed and how many vulnerabilities has the Flash plugin introduced?

Fluff article, really despise these immature "wars" and biased blogs. I own an Android phone, iPad, Touchpad, and a Windows laptop. I use the best technology I can and let results decide my decisions rather than brand loyalty. The new Med

That isn't considered "tough math" though. Surely basic math is needed but most developers won't actually use high level math (except to get the degree).

I agree that iOS has won but the "fragmentation" issue that was spouted since day one is way over sensationalized. If Amazon strips out all of the Google products it shouldn't be considered "Android" but the first true branch. It again rei

I'm definitely impressed, I don't think I've seen a Flash game that looks as good. I honestly don't know much about Unity or the technology but my first concern is performance. Adobe tried the "write once, run everywhere" and while they we
