I like how the bad Reddit PR articles that were appearing last week for the investigation of Violentacrez were all flagged into oblivion due to "not technical enough" yet we continue to see articles like these.

Lots of Reddit fans flagging these articles... no surprise. A huge Reddit story revolving around online anonymity is certainly newsworthy. Great article. Certainly more newsworthy than sodas + teeth.

Free speech? Free speech would be not banning Gawker and allowing Gawker to doxx the scumbag. Free speech, right?

My point was that it's not "mostly free", any serious business or website with a decent amount of traffic will be paying $$.

Credit cards can be used by any thief, hacking tools cannot. A Lockitron hack tool would likely be more in the realm of Metasploit. I'm not saying there won't be hackers/thieves who could do it, just comparing to stolen credit cards is si

Can you expand on the "actively hostile" comment? I thought it was a technically and aesthetically impressive implementation but I'm no designer.

I think any hostility you see is due to his comment of "I'd rather have minecraft not run on win 8 at all than to play along.". He'd never be dumb enough to do this so why say it, and why stir the pot with everyone who thinks Minecraft rea

Completely. I want to use my tablet but always end up using my laptop on the couch or desk. The only times I prefer a tablet would be on an airplane or in bed.

Are you claiming that over saturation is worse than zero saturation? To be honest, I can't remember the last "missing child" face I saw. If I visited Reddit today and saw a face of a kid in my state that was missing, I'd be more likely to

We're a small business with 20+ repositories and faced this problem long ago. GitHub pricing simply isn't tailored for small projects. We moved to SpringLoops which only charges for "active" projects, so we can close those projects that o

You should give the full quote. "Started noticing some of the well known problems" implies that he did know about them, just didn't notice the negatives of them himself the first couple of days. Lots of hate on HN for this article...
