Simply switch to OpenJDK (which is same code base, but without any Oracle angst attached) and be whole.

I think one of the points that is worth making, is that middle class is not what it used to be. It should be OK to consider a $130 meal if you are middle class . The economy has been booming (for the rich). But the middle class is no m

What matters is what YOU do, and what your children are allowed to do. What matters, is that if you let your children play outside alone and unsupervised, tomorrow they will be taken away by CPS or equivalent protective services organizatio

Here's my metric: I do complicated merges once in a while. If Beyond Compare (price = 60$) helps me resolve the conflicts in few minutes, of what used to take an hour of cursing and sweating, I pay them and consider the money well spen

What's the point of running CI on a branch that's effectively for tracking releases only? We run CI on master branch and fix any build breaks or regressions immediately. (That's the job of unit tests and integration tests.) I

Yes, because master is the default implicit branch. (Now, in git is possible to designate other branch as default, but folks who follow the advice in article often are not experienced enough to do it.) I know a team that runs this branching

The advice here given to avoid using "master" branch for development, and advice to create non-default branch named "develop" (or variations thereof) is quite harmful. If you must have a "release" branch or &qu

What is going on there? Java drops 6%, C drops 5%, it's like the whole thing is massively contracting. For JVM Scala, Kotlin and Groovy add up to 1.2% share, while Clojure is not in top 50.

Sounds like a CPU bug then. Recompiling made it so that certain instruction (or sequence of instructions) are not hit - avoiding hitting some kind of hardware problem. But the problem is still there.
