To be fair, the only reason this info is public is the person is 'tagging' the activity. By default all tagged links in delicious are public and that makes sense. If you tag an activity like this on fitbit, you should mark it private. I hav

for those that don't know the awesome Calendar About Nothing tracks your commits to open source code. The whole goal is to get the longest chain http://calendaraboutnothing.com/

Um it is great that you get access to their massive mailing list and site traffic, but you can't do $10 and you are forgetting about the fees (30-50% of revenue). So you have a $60, selling for $30 * 300 sales = 9,000 (2,700 is kept by them

Honestly have rails 2.2.2 and old rubygem, along with rails 2.3.4 and rubygem 1.36 has never been easier. Thanks goes to the RVM project for simplifying keeping around different stacks of Ruby.

Word of mouth mostly. We did post on a couple job sites, but none of them did as well as just tweeting out that we were hiring, and that remote was OK.

We are both on HN so if anyone has specific questions, we would be happy to share anything else people are curious about from our experience.

I have the geekdesk or something that looks exactly like it. I love it. I sit in the mornings and after lunch switch to standing mode. Occasionally if I have to really focus or type a lot I will switch back to sitting mode, but it definitel

I'd go for the Andriod, it is gaining steam. I think the big fish in a smaller pond idea makes a lot of sense. If it does well on one platform I would look at finding someone with experience on the other to help port it.

Once the transition is complete this should help to increase the quality and speed of development on Ruby. It is amazing how much contributions on projects go up, when moved to git/github.

We had just deployed a new version of our app to Heroku as this happened. I thought our release was incredibly buggy and constantly crashing until I noticed Heroku's status update. They came back quickly, and for us it is a known risk of ha

Yeah I disagree with Eric on this point. There are many things I think are fine and acceptable to do, but they don't need to be a part of my public life. I don't want employers, grandparents, and the government to have access to my private

Yes, I do it on my computer all the time... I did it on my older smart phones as well. If an app was buggy or crashed a lot, I uninstalled it.

It has had a barcode reader / price comparisons based on the barcodes for some time now. http://redlaser.com/ In fact it was the #2 selling iPhone app for quite awhile.

I like this and also really like http://codepad.org before it, but all I really want added is an embed feature. So you can post code snippets on your blog, and as people read the examples they can run the code. Consider this a feature req

Amazon AWS really should have a 'app store' of pre configured EC2s with wordpress, drupal, etc. Online interface boots the EC2, makes sure it loaded, and links you to the admin interface, links to backedup s3 dumps, etc
