My router (an Archer, can't recall the model) has a "night mode" configurable where the LEDs are disabled during a given time range. I haven't bothered to turn it on since it lives in the hallway, but at least the option

I go with Warm lights for relaxing spaces e.g. bedroom, bathroom, living room, and Cool lights for workspaces e.g. the shed, kitchen, laundry... It feels "right" to me having a lighting distinction between the types of spaces.

I remember reading about a model boating society that, instead of wargaming, would create scale models of famous warships and fight them - the hulls would be thin wood, and the turrets had motorised mounts and compressed air guns capable of

My driving instructor was very stressful (lots of yelling at me and other drivers), but given the sheer amount of bad drivers on the road these days it ended up being helpful - when "stressed out" is the baseline when you're

It constantly horrifies me that they don't use data diodes for this systems like this. Let data flow one way from the secure industrial equipment out to the general use network for monitoring, but you'd still have to go to a machi

Having presumed liability laws sounds dreadful - you can really follow all the road rules and still be found guilty, because a "less dangerous" vehicle crosses your path and causes an accident? Australian road rules are quite reas

As an Australian, I can confirm this. It's not necessarily their fault, but cyclists are extremely irritating for drivers, and an outright danger in some cases. Due to our road designs being mostly car-centric and our laws, it is hard

That was partly the reason I bought it once the post-release fixes came in. To help show that "not screwing people" is a viable business model. The devs did the right thing by their customers which is sadly quite rare these days.
