What's next on the roadmap for cloud functions? Some things I'm curious about is work related to cold starts and future run times (specifically Ruby) but happy to hear about anything.

Is application hosting (heroku, app engine, elb) on the roadmap?

How does TabNine work for all languages? Curious about implementation details and use with dynamic languages. I would HAPPILY pay $29 if it works well for Ruby.

I'm not sure but I believe that's the number of employees they had when they were acquired. There's ~250 employees listed on LinkedIn.

How representative are the terms outlined in the example? 18.25% for 1.6M where the lead paid 1m for 6.25%? I've never raised money before so I don't know.

I wish every language would do this.

Thanks for the post Russell. Our SaaS application is running on Rails / Typpescript frontend. We're patiently waiting for App Engine to add Standard support for Ruby before we go all in on GCP. I would be most excited to see Cloud

This is pretty cool. What can we expect in terms of additional language support?

For context, jamebuilds is the maintainer or contributor of many javascript libraries like Lerna, Babel, and Yarn. He recently tweeted [1] that he would go to war with Palantir for collaboration with ICE. He opened several issues with Palan

Based on some comments from Python 3 on GAE Standard [1], I think Cloud Task supersedes queue. DSL Authentication sounds cool though. [1]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17717045

Last link doesn't work for me. Tried multiple devices and browsers. Just 404s. I didn't find the first two links very helpful.

Thanks! Unfortunately, there's a link to Cloud Tasks API on that page that 404s and there's not much else info on it. As far as I can tell, it's alpha. Maybe I can find the Google Next presentation on it.

Where can I find more information on Cloud Scheduler & Tasks? Having a hard time googling it :) and the links go to a sign up form.

Yes, there was a slack like chat. There was a lot of channels based on mentor group, category (AI, saas, etc), and many more.

We did the first batch of Startup School. We had mandatory N to 1 meetings. Those weren't that useful for us (it felt like we were a bit further ahead than other companies) but a few companies got a lot of value out of it. Our optional

App Engine is really awesome! There's a few caveats I would add if you're using it for Rails or Elixir which requires the Flex environment. * No integration with Standard APIs * Slow / build deploy times * Minimum pricing of

Flex feels like a lower level of abstraction. You provide a docker file and what you want your machines to look like (vcpu, ram, storage) and it handles everything else. Standard is much closer to Heroku with the added benefit of being able

I don't believe this is an issue. YC's stance is to always participate in their pro rata. "We exercise YC’s pro rata investing rights in all follow-on priced financing rounds, beginning with a company’s first priced round. At

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I was asking how much you think companies who graduate form YC should raise (say seed) compared to companies who are graduating from YC Series A.

1. Will there be any additional investment in the A outside of YC Continuity? 2. How much do you think YC companies will raise post YC vs YC Series A?

I've never heard of Ruby Facets but it looks interesting. Just as a heads up, the api document links on http://rubyworks.github.io/facets/learn.html don't work.
