Are there any more informed folks in here that would like to discuss how "having an ISO standard" would improve Julia?

You sound like your only interaction with "the millennials" is fox news.

I'm guessing that the kind of people who uses the word "millennials", also imagine them as a homogeneous group.

I was just highlighting how saying "technically it's C that's faster" is a stupid think to say. Thanks for helping me make my point :D

Technically, python is written in C. What's your point?

Why is it a sham? It's useful to know that x is faster. As a user of x I don't really care if the reason it's faster is it's C++ under the hood. That's really an implementation detail for me.

I'm convinced that saying "is healthier" on the basis of a one-dimensional score, is pretty much meaningless.

Saying 20m is meaningless unless you mention a time scale.

It's not "perfectionism". It's called entertainment. Some people like watching desperate housewives, some people like reading about compilers.

Unfortunately, he's right. I'm not saying he's right as a rationale for a ban - that's subjective and depends on the goals of the subreddit. But he's right in that if your genre is indistinguishable from what comput

Exactly. Tesla stock price should be looked at in a log plot.

Does tesla have better range because they have better batteries, or just bigger batteries?

My thoughts exactly. Solving (or mitigating) the "they're bypassing sanctions" problem is easier than the "they can manufacture everything then need" problem.

Is HN just tabloid now? I've been noticing lots of this gossip-type "news" on HN lately.

When I read "Tesla plunges" I thought this was about the stock.

My (more or less extensive) experience with Julia has been rather good. Step 1. Prototyping. Small data, don't care about performance. Julia is as easy as python, but faster. GC doesn't matter. Step 2. Production. Very large datas
