I'm gonna read the article, I promise, but is the title really "If your internet is bad, the internet is bad"?

My point, more specifically, is that the US healthcare system is in a state of regulatory capture due to various market failures in our implementation of employer-based health insurance. I would go further and say that employer-based healt

Oh it's absolutely complicated, but hilariously inefficient and corrupt on both a macro and a micro level. On every level you examine the system it's a bugfuck.

I just realized that my last two posts are poo-pooing Silicon Valley's recent unwillingness to stay in its lane. I'm not trying to be negative here, it's just... man, it's a big old world and software isn't eating

My dawg, you just named several things that require physical contact for energy transfer (ie they plug into the wall) and one wireless system that will literally kill you if you stay out in it unprotected. I don't know if you meant to

In the united states we can't successfully implement negotiation on drug prices for MediCare . They literally can't negotiate with their suppliers. By law. Anybody thinking software is going to solve that is way in a bubble. h

As somebody who came from an electrical engineering background into software, literally from the bottom of the bottom on a physical layer level.... Software VC would really benefit from a couple emag classes before trying to disrupt physics

One really important caveat here-- nature abhors a vacuum, and spinal cord injuries are no exception. A chronic injury to the spinal column will result in scar tissue coming in over the wound, which is a totally separate issue from the i

Don't be stupid. I could make a circa 1995 website trivially using modern tools. But who wants a circa 1995 website in 2017? No matter what you give em, they only want more, more, more. Which is, of course, fine with me.

I hate to go Godwin on you, but the Nazis also expelled a great number of jewish scientists that turned around and developed the atomic bomb for the US. So you have the V2 rocket on one hand and the atomic bomb on the other. I think your

I tell a lot of younger developers this, because it's an important truth that will never, ever be spoken aloud. The sole role of Human Resources is to protect the company from liability, either through lawsuits or labor law compliance.

Yeah, I don't really get it either. Know a couple people laid off from there. They'd hired a bunch of kids from a coding bootcamp, and there was a serious bloodbath amongst them. An interesting case study-- seems like it shook
