I just don't expect professional typography from the web yet. Can you give an example of a site that does it right?

No, the sequence is correct as originally posted and the rule is: 0, 1!, (2!)!, ((3!)!)!, (((4!)!)!)!, ...

No, although other things being equal it seems more likely that someone would switch in that direction if their current personal convictions were aligned with B. His posting to CNET is worth reading too: http://news.cnet.com/8618-31921_

I didn't understand that comment, either. Was your argument "he's right, but nobody agrees with him, so he's wrong"?

It's sad that the only way to get customer support from Google is to get to #1 on HN. It's almost worst than no support at all (because less equitable).

I don't understand. If you're smart enough to shut down an account before it does anything fraudulent, then you have no conceivable excuse not to pay the balance out when you close the account.

What you're saying now is reasonable (though I still don't agree that HN needs identities). Your previous comment read as implying that from "all opinions are equal" followed "creationism is as valid as evolution", which is a total straw ma

In case you cared, "zo" is valid in the UK/international Scrabble wordlist, but not in the US (yet, until we persuade them to use the same wordlist as everyone else).

To be precise, that's only true if you pay in cash. Pay with plastic in Australia and you're charged by the cent.

The USPS is funded by its federally granted right to deliver dead-tree spam to my home against my express wishes. Which then has to be removed by the city at taxpayers' expense. Forgive me if I have limited enthusiasm for this "unmatched b

Better, meaning better than Tor? Better than I2P? I think we've got to get people to start using the decentralized internet we have.

GP didn't assert there weren't poor disabled people; merely that if you are a [sc. non-disabled] poor person it is possible to scam the government into paying you disability benefits.

Discovery of free apps can be accomplished by downloading all of them and finding out which ones (if any) suit you. This method sucks, but it sucks much less than paying $2 for each of them and finding out which ones (if any) suit you. Tha

I go to the kitchen because I need to stretch my legs, not because I actually need the coffee. If the coffee came to my desk, I'd have to find another excuse to take a two minute break and walk around. Take up smoking, perhaps.

I don't know a lot about SOCA, but I agree that the amateur, bullying tone of the page reads more like the work of an interested party than of a police agency.
