I'm on a similar page as you but I think that 'flipping' houses is okay. The house next door went for sale and we were thinking of buying it but it was a complete dump. Some guy bought it for a "steal" around $600k,

I do not have an insulin pump and I'm presuming you don't with my response. The pumps I have seen make noise when they are pumping and also have an alarm (I'm not sure if that's from the pump or the reader) if your l

Yes I presume it was almost surely the last two years (this year or the past two years). The commenter replied and said he read the parent's comments to find the soundcloud account and linked that with the poster of the youtube video.

So the oxford international film festival has only had one music video of the year ever? As I said we don't know what year he won.

How did you get the youtube video from his profile? I looked through and couldn't find a way to correlate the two as we don't know what year he won.

Don't you need to be paired with the phone to give distance (or are you using some pedometer function?) I've used Polar HR watches a lot in the past and after usually 15 jogs/bike rides I could estimate my HR pretty darn clos

Were you using only electric when you went the 23 miles? I live in Japan now and all the bikes are "electric-assist." You still have to pedal and it just feels like someone is pushing you or you are in a much higher gear than yo

Aren't passwords hashed on the client side before sending it across the network? That would make your way around not work (unless that's done on the client side also after verifying from the server that it's correct).

I'm guessing the parent is just complaining that if you are reading code very fast (particularly if you're browsing repositories on your phone) it is hard to distinguish between "val" and "var."

So can someone explain to me why the downvotes? If the salts are unique to the user wouldn't it be nearly impossible for the hacker to use the hashed pw on other sites? (I'm not a web dev but to my understanding that's how it

The article doesn't say anything about Starbucks not knowing about it. The employee who picked up apparently didn't know but I'd be surprised if Apple didn't get the go ahead from Starbucks first.

I also have the same fears as you. I was raised going to the zoo and aquariums a lot when I was young. Although I don't actively participate in anything to help conserve wildlife (anything substantial at least) I consider myself some

I wouldn't say that they necessarily want to increase their market share at this point (but that may have been the original intent). Now it is probably more about retaining as many users as possible by offering more or more convenien

But atom is made by github, right? Not to justify their choice but you can see from a company perspective how it surely aligns with their goals (increase github market share).

I think storage on phones is a huge factor right now. A lot of the world is probably using phones with 8gb and 16gb of storage. That probably becomes ~1gb and ~9gb of free space after the OS. I'm not sure how much those countries influ

A tag like this would be a great idea. I'm playing around with a very basic casual web app that will have no sensitive data besides a hashed username/password. If someone wants to hack the database and give themselves nearly unl

If you were an early adopter of FB it was exclusive to college students and had a much, much more "mature" audience to myspace. That factor alone attracted a huge crowd that myspace couldn't touch. In terms of UI and whatno

I really hate the UI they used for this for the same reason as you. When I hover over an image I can't see what that image is about. I have the move the mouse away from what I want to focus on. That seems like poor design IMO.

Have you ever forked a repo then made a pull request to later find out the owner wants nothing to do with the project anymore? Your point may be valid for many users but it's not okay to discredit the op's idea.
