What I just described doesn't require margin. Spreads are "defined risk" trades so as long as you have enough in your account to cover your max potential loss, you are fine to make the trades.

The best way I've heard it put, is that good UX isn't automatically knowing what to do the first time you interface with something. It's doing it once and then it feeling intuitive every time after.
