RAII is fine. If it's a language feature, APIs can provide that to you so you don't have to write RAII wrappers all the time. Otherwise a generic _bracket_ operator could be introduced, similar to Python's `with` statement. I

While this poll was a result of the recent incident, it is not about those two packages. It's about _all_ packages and authors, in general. The question is whether NPM should retain the package against an author's will such that i

As stupid as it might sound, but my recommendation is a simple paper notebook. Certainly, it is less convenient; but in terms of security, one pretty much needs physical access to obtain it. Otherwise, I think KeePass will do you just fine.

I specifically wanted to avoid the LUA support. As soon as we get there I'd rather go with Ruby and Rakefiles.

Do you know, does this also work in WSL nowadays. Some time ago I've tried to generate a PDF/SVG using mermaid.js' CLI and it failed miserably with a Chrome stacktrace. Edit: I'd also like to point out that depending on

You are right, glancing over the Man page I thought you could just specify multiple commands. But it doesn't seem like it. So, my problem persists.

Are the commonly used file explorers also using this method to copy/paste files? If not, I wonder why.. </sarcasm>

Thanks, the `!macro` thing seems to be what I was looking for. Having intermediary temporary files is of course fine. The use-case at that time was to convert a LaTeX file containing a TIKZ image (therefore having a .tikz file extension) to

I have encountered Tup in the past and could not figure out how to define a "generator". As in: a function that defines how some output can be generated from a certain input running multiple commands. I don't want to copy tho

From my experience it is a pretty tough question to answer. You can point people to various 'smaller' aspects (like I did above regarding error handling) and try to explain why Haskell's approach is 'better' compare

I'd say, take a look at error handling. In Haskell you can accomplish a lot by just using `Maybe` and `Either` along with the functions related to them, provided by the standard library. Haskell's pattern matching feature makes it

I second this. Kind of. From my experience, moderating and policing, within this context, doesn't really work out. We just end up with subpar, stupid 'solutions' like not even having ALL-chat in a video game, because lo and b

I agree. Assassins Creed Valhalla is also quite beautiful, but I still think Arcane is on another level in terms of composition, color palette, shapes, attention to detail, etc.

I love this art style and the environment design so much. Just hit pause at _any_ point and it looks like a wallpaper. Try it! The _only_ thing that bothers my a tiny bit is that they added a bit too much film grain in my opinion; but hey,
