Article says at one point, "We have reduced the time for the computation by ~119%!", which is impossible. If you reduce it by 100% it is taking zero time already.

I don't use Docker so I have had no problems whatsoever. Getting all the Mac apps I code on building for Arm was easy.

Absolutely. If something is oddly slow, I run the profiler to see what's going on. If the profiler shows me something boneheaded like this that is a big win to fix, I fix it. Obviously I make sure the tests still pass, but then I check

If you think the construction costs are high, think about the demolition cost when the facility reaches end of life, and is now radioactive.

The biggest controversy I remember from the old days of Google was the goji berry war. A pastry chef at a café on the Google Mountain View campus put out some nice little cakes with Tibetan goji berries. The sign said "Free Tibet Goji

The Prophet 5 was also a huge step forward. The combination of polyphony and many memories in a great-sounding synthesizer of practical size was a giant achievement at the time. It was a really hot item for ages. I worked in a music store i

This professor seems very pleased with himself but I think he handled this in the worst way possible. He should have said on the WhatsApp group, right at the beginning, "I am your professor, and I monitor this gc. You can use the gc to

No it doesn't. You can install the Google Play Store without jail breaking. I've installed the Play Store on 3 Fire tablets, and I've never done a jail break. Instructions are on the android Police website. https:/

Tall women are easy to get dates with, well unless they are the fashion model types who are hot enough to get the in-demand tall guys. There are lots of cute tall women who are unfairly neglected. I'm average height and was married to

Agreed. Also OP posted a rant but doesn't seem to know what is going on or whether he actually needs to do anything. For all I know the demand from the CA FTB is mistaken and can safely be ignored. For the record, I do have to deal wit

The best book about sport is Fever Pitch, not a novel but stories of Nick Hornby's own football fandom as he grew up. I don't even like sport and I loved it. He then peaked when he wrote Hi Fidelity, a fantastic novel about relati

No app is feature complete on a changing platform. The OS changes and the new hardware is different. Assumptions made years ago no longer hold. One of my apps has been in the store for 10 years (Mac & iOS) and I have had to make many up

It’s not hard to do a recompile with a slightly newer SDK, check things still work, update the version and copyright and re-upload. That’s how I keep all my apps in the store. Often you find a cheap update you ought to make, like add dark

We were just fact-checking our fairly mundane page about MIG the company and the planes they had made, which was written from publicly available info at the time. No secret plane details were asked for or given. It's really good to go

We were making an educational CD-ROM at the BBC in London back in the mid 90s and it had a section about planes. It included some facts about MIG and their jets, which we needed to verify. We had a russian programmer on staff and he said &q
