Until recently I felt that all the free services I am getting from different website are a blessing. I am starting to feel otherwise. Somewhat unfair, because I have the money to spend, but still. When the service is paid for, I as a custom

So, let me pick everything negative that can be said about a working environment, put it in a post and then come up with a term for it. How about... survival mode! Great, post finished.

The ethics here are very questionable. Wtf - you just find some dude, based on no real evidence, then you "out" him for something that's not criminal and give the internet trolls his whereabouts? What could be more "yell

I hope progress bars will not be an excuse to build bad slow-loading websites. I think if you are not GMail you should stay away.

Yeah it hasn't been available since the first time it came out, and no mentions of it coming back. Makes me sad.

This article is arrogant and pretentious. Come on, it trivializes one side while glorifying the other beyond reasonable. It seems to say that if you work on a startup you are the cool kid, and otherwise you are loser. Just like high school.

Definitely. When you have a life sentence coming your way (like in Manning's case) anything goes. If this is a way for him to protect himself, then it is a decision we should respect, because this is the price to be paid for his other

It sounds from the tone of the statement that Ron Paul was exaggerating to make a point. The title is sensationalist.

I would like to disagree. I have found that an office that is too quite is an office where people probably don't communicate much, and is not a healthy environment. And it's the office where people sit by each other's desks all the time is

I would rather have developers work on the IDE than make yet another GUI interface for Git. You have the command line for that.

I've been a JS (which is the land of callbacks) programmer for only a few months now, and I would disagree. Yes you can write deeply nested callback chains, but you don't have to most of the time. There are a couple of ways to avoid it. * T

If a language is not making the front-pages of /r/programming and Hacker News much it does not mean that it is dead. Maybe just not as "hip" or even "hyped" as it used to be.

There are too many sarcastic comments in this thread. Seriously. There are 10 comments which are essentially the same. I hate to use the cliche comparison to Reddit, but it's hard not to.
