> Whatever the speed limit, you should never go 90 km/h in a blind turn if it is too fast to avoid a cyclist. I suppose it depends on the country, but usually roads mandate minimum speeds (tipically half the max speed) in order to a

When the CryptoKitties craze was at its highest, the Ethereum network was still faster and cheaper than Bitcoin. It kept processing transactions (faster than ever, even). You just needed to pay more than usual. You make some good points, li

All of those lost against better tech, because they were but gimmicks. Cheap and efficient flight is better than supersonic, exclusive flight. High resolution, high contrast, high colorspace TV is better than 3D TV (IMHO VR is also better t

What? 2GB of RAM and 15GB of decently fast storage (preferably SSD) are the only hard requirements. That's not state of the art by any means.

Some quick explanation: := is the standard SBT assignment operator. You see it everywhere, so its use is clear. / is used for directory traversal. This is not SBT-specific, it comes from the File class in the Scala standard library. Th

GSync is expensive because it needs a special chip in the screen. Freesync is cheap and has been made into a standard.

You can take a look at graphics cards companies. ATI/AMD went from Radeon to Radeon HD to Radeon R5/R7/R9/RX. Nvidia went from Geforce to Geforce GT. In all cases, the name change happened after the 900/9000 series

The problem with Scala is that it is so expressive and powerful that it is really easy to write unreadable code, especially when delving into the heavy functional side. Scala is the C++ of the JVM. There will be programmers that want to use

This is simply not true. The protocol spec that the DAO was in is still alive and well. It's called ETC. Could it be that you just resent the fact that people give a lot more value to a forked chain called ETH? This is understandable,

I have a pair of 505 that is 20+ years and still looks like new. The tint faded a bit but the cloth and craft are perfect. That's why they don't make them anymore, I suppose.

The DAO contract was not invalidated. It is still there, on the blocks where it was deployed. The fact that the people running the nodes stopped seeing that fork of the chain as the interesting one is distributed consensus at work. Anyone t

The second benefit of well-made roundabouts is that they impede head-on and T-bone collisions. All accidents become side-by-side accidents.

This is a tradeoff not everyone can afford to make. A clean Spacemacs installation right now brings in a broken org-mode that cannot do exports. Spacemacs needs version pinning and stable package channels.

Crash Bandicoot for PS1 was so revolutionary that most studios were never able to catch on. Naughty Dog improved even more with Crash Bandicoot 2 and Crash Bandicoot 3, but the first game was already at the top of what the PS1 could do.
