"git branch -d" doesn't remove a branch if that means losing track of some local commits. "-D" doesn't check that. The "git branch" commands only operate on your local repo, they don't push any c

This article is a love letter to both mathematics and programming. It is awesome to read something and grasp the joy and playfulness of the author. The maths are explained in a simple way. The programming concepts go from the straightforwar

Collapse is usually caused by overpopulation and mismanagement of resources. Decentralize the people and the collapse just comes sooner. The total human impact is way way bigger when population is sparsely distributed. Cities enable people

Leaving aside the terrible environmental consequences that lowering population density results in, there's two main reasons that keep people living in cities: work and service availability. Tesla is doing impressive work, but they won&

The problem isn't usually with the runtime itself, but with all the ecosystem and tools around it. This becomes very apparent when venturing beyond web services and you start depending on those tools.

Not really. The newer open versions still don't match Oracle JDK 8. Wanna bundle a JVM with your app so your users don't have to worry about the Java runtime? Well, you can't do that anymore. Wanna use JavaFX? You have to jum

Yes! Perl is what I turn into when I have a Bash script that is becoming too big or too complex. It's easy to to turn Bash code into bad Perl code that is still better than Bash. From there, it's easy to create a maintainable Perl

That's also possible with a common set of hardware controller devices. Just like multiple games are played with the same controller on a console, or the way we use personal computers with a keyboard and mouse.

Present (1.1+) SBT is much much nicer. It's the same core, but the new syntax does a great job of exposing what it does. It's still a complex tool, but it has become learnable. Oh, and it's much faster nowadays.

PS5 will support 8K just like PS3 supported 1080p: it was there but almost no one used it. Nearly every game opted for 720p instead. It's a way to future-proof the generation, allowing for a future enhanced version of the console.
