A lot of gamedev networking is like this too. Half making sure your game model works in a latent environment/can be extrapolated. The other half is clever tricks(particle systems! sound effects!) to make the player think something is h

They may not explode but contacting a 400V bus that can dump ~1200 amps produces a similar effect on the human body.

Well first off I'd probably never run a 15k interval. Pretty sure that's beyond mfgr spec. We run 7k in our diesel on full synthetic. Stretching a maintenance interval seems pennywise and pound foolish. You also have to consider h

Yup, I was spending $400/mo on gas which is now close to $50/mo before you figure in oil change costs. Quite a few cars/trucks run synthetic these days which can really start adding up.

Yeah, but there are some limitations with Rust's generics around numeric types. You can't declare generics with arrays of a fixed size(which is really common in performance sensitive code) so there are trade-offs. I understand tha

How new is the heat-pump? We put one in our house this year and been in the 20-40F range for the last 2 months. So far we haven't seen resistive heating kick in more than when it's above 40F.

Yeah, kudos on you for thinking this through. I really like Private VLANs over vanilla separate LANs(Physical or via VLAN) because it prevents each client from talking to each other even when they're on the same LAN. From the IoT devic

Yeah, I'm seeing more and more people pick up products like UniFi, and putting IoT stuff over on a Private VLAN so that they only get to talk to the gateway and not be able to pivot to anywhere else on the network.

If you work in code, sure. If you're on the Art side you have the movie/animation space(even more of a meatgrider). If you're on the design side, the options are pretty slim. If you're on QA, it isn't the straightes

The only site I've seen break was Burrow ironically enough, couldn't get through the checkout flow which is pretty darn stupid for a purchased product. Our solution is simple, we've got two SSIDs, one w/ PH, one without.

Isn't that a function of voltage and not modulation? There might be a cost argument, I'm not sure if solid state step-down DC-DC converters are cheaper than good old cheap transformers.
