Very true, but with the caveat that you have now increased your motor, prop, and ESC budget by 50%. And of course this will impact your battery life, as coaxial arrangements trade away some efficiency for this redundancy.

I use IdeaVim every day for java work. It's okay, but it's a pretty shallow emulation, and I frequently miss things from real vim.

Using a raw repl at all is painful compared to just selectively evaluating expressions from a buffer (say, in Emacs, VimClojure, or the Eclipse and IntelliJ plugins).

This matches my experience. Eclipse Indigo and Glassfish both love to crash for me on OpenJDK (amd64 ubuntu). When I switch to Oracle's JDK binaries it all works fine.

Clojure is not a purely functional language either. You can have side-effects anywhere, it's just that Clojure emphasizes immutable, persistent data structures.
