One of his comments from 2016 says he spends all of his 100k/year living in Vilnius. I don't know what kind of mansion he is living in but this guy is clearly completely detached from reality. Most people in eastern Europe barely

Maybe we just use a different definition of "constructive feedback", but my emotional perception of a comment has nothing to do with the classification. "You suck and your software is a piece of crap" is not constructive

There's several people in this thread saying the user did not provide constructive feedback and I disagree. Amongst the emotionally charged venting there's a description of a real struggle the user is encountering while trying to

It's hilarious listening to my friends who do frontend rave about the the incredible framework of the month, every month there's a new one that's supposed to be the last, ultimate, final stop for developing frontends. Lately

Standard contract rate in London is ~500GBP per day, which is incredibly high compared to most of Europe.

How does that make the language half-baked? Go didn't have generics until recently which made utility functions like that complicated. C doesn't have them either.

They have to get that sweet corporate money somehow. Teaching people to use Docker Desktop so they pester their employer for a license seems to be the premier way to do it.

Docker. I'd rather have a proper environment I control than whatever bastardization "Docker Desktop" is. It uses VMs in the background anyway.

I find it funny that the real egregious stat is the 600ms render time, but every retort to GP's comment is about the size.

I worked a corporate job for several years where I pretty much learned nothing. As far as my skills go, the end result was almost no different to not working at all.

Had a look through the website, and while the headline sounds pretty upsetting I think it's important to note that the thing works just fine with regular detergent tablets. This DRM'd monstrosity seems to be an "upgrade"

Anecdotal evidence, but I work with tons of people who ride those scooters to work. Most of them have one of their own though.

There are (used to be?) widely recommended books for certain topics, such as K&R's "The C Programming Language". I don't think any programming games are anywhere near the popularity of these books.

Lots of job sites scrape company job boards directly, or even their competitors. You'll find most jobs are usually on several boards at once.
