There's no penalty for drawing up a non-enforceable non-compete to create a chilling effect on the job market. If a company goes after an individual, they have to pay for lawyer fees to fight it on top of being unable to take up the co

This is a big deal if they can pull this off and I'm very impressed with the FTC being proactive and doing something about it. Noncompetes are a huge incentive for companies to prevent employees from being paid their true market value

It varies state by state since there are different rules by each on what clauses in non competes can be enforced. Some states like CA and MA straight up ban them.

This is a step in the right direction. However, I don’t know how much more the FTC can do on a case by case basis. I’m curious if the Supreme Court has taken up cases about non-competes and analyzed if they violate the constitution since th

I've observed any discussion about US immigration (no matter how relevant to tech) gets booted off the HN front page, probably deprioritized. I'm not sure if it's something others have noted too. I do wonder why though. Is it

I work in the industry and always thought iRacing model was the most detailed but wanted to know if someone knew a better model. It's a shame they don't license their models for engineering customers (like rFactor does), since it&

It’s important to note that it’s highly discretionary and you have to make a case for it. It’s not clear if USCIS updated their guidelines on what counts as a compelling circumstance to give you an EAD. So far, they’ve only approved for ver
