Interesting so you’re pulling the audio from tidal’s old api. Perhaps a little dubious on the legality side but hey maybe don’t leave the api open :)

These don’t seem comparable to me. The sr 71 was never meant to be mass produced or to head to head against a mig. The sr71 didn’t even have any guns it’s a spy plane. The sr 71 accomplished its goal with flying colors and spotted nuclear t

This seems unfair. You can choose to enable the vpn or not. Free vpns are notoriously awful and ad ridden. Mozilla is providing a genuine high quality free vpn. Many parts of the world experience censorship and don’t have the means to purch

is this a cpu that's meant for AI training or is it more for serving inference? I don't quite get why I would want to buy an arm CPU over a nvidia GPU for ai applications.

Some projects like to vendor their dependencies so they don’t have to rely on the supply chain staying up and can create hermetic builds. Of course this prevents you from getting security updates and bug fixes but that’s the trade off. I kn

I’m assuming you’re referring to an async runtime like tokio. In my option the dependency problem exists with or without tokio. Tokio is probably one of the best dependencies

Yeah I’m in the same boat here I really don’t like the dependency sprawl of rust. I understand there’s tradeoffs but I really wanna make sure we don’t end up like npm

Y E S. I’m tired of hearing about child proofing the internet. We need a solution that’s not enforcing age or id verification on the os or internet itself like meta is pushing. We need better solutions and we should fight draconian enforcem

Modern web dev is ridiculous. Most websites are an ad ridden tracking hellacape. Seeing sites like hn where lines of js are taken seriously is a godsend. Make the web less bloated.

a lot of people seem to not understand what used to go into running chrome on arm64 devices, this blog goes over it pretty well https://www.da.vidbuchanan.co.uk/blog/netflix-on-asahi.html

In spite of no totalitarian government and things like environmental regulations the US still is able to be one of the most innovative nations on the planet. I don't think we need those things to be able to have manufacturing in the un

What you're describing literally is us losing it. We lost in the market. Price was above all for the market and we didn't adapt and lost. I agree with the point you're trying to make but we did lose it in the sense that we do

Why is that the only way to accomplish that? We'll have to restart manufacturing while also keeping wages livable and the work the US does competitive. As I said above we'll just have to be more revolutionary than the manufacturin

we don't have to entirely replace Chinese manufacturing to build back American manufacturing that's a false dichotomy. To compete we'll just have to be more revolutionary than the manufacturing industry already is.

Just as manufacturing in China took time manufacturing in the US will take time. The US has lost much of its skilled labor and mom and pop parts shop. If we have any hope of re-invigorating this some large company is going to have to bite

The blocking of VPNs is despicable. I love mullvad but hate that most sites block mullvad ips until i get lucky with one of the relays. Either way love what they do and hope they win. The forced demonetization of users is ridiculous. This w
